Travel Day: Lambeau Field + Michigan

Today, we left Wisconsin for Michigan. It was another full day of driving, with one stop in Green Bay, WI. Ron was a Packers fan when we first met. He has always wanted to watch a game in Green Bay—especially on a crisp and cold winter day. When we moved to Olympia, WA, we quickly became Seahawks fans, but his desire to see a game at Lambeau Field hasn’t changed. So today after a brief stop at Target for supplies we headed to the Packers’ stadium.  We had lunch in the parking lot and Ron got to see Lambeau Field in person. It wasn’t the same as watching a live game, but he was still pretty excited.

From Green Bay, we got back on the road for the last part of our journey. We thought we were in pretty good shape with our arrival time at our next campsite, but we got hit with another time change. Darn!!! Thankfully, this is the last time change we have to think about for a couple weeks. I just have to make sure I remember this 3 hour difference when the kids check in with their teachers and their classes.

I got my first thrilling glimpse of Lake Michigan today. We will get a chance to dip our toes in a couple days. Tomorrow we’ll start with Lake superior—our first Great Lake to explore. This area of the US with the lakes and the forests changing into their fall colours is gorgeous!

For dinner tonight, we enjoyed some Taco Soup at our campsite. I did a lot of meal prep before our trip so that we could pull out meals from the freezer to enjoy after long days on the road. Once again, I’m so happy I did. Thank you for this great tip mom!!  After some s’mores by the fire, we tucked ourselves into bed. We’ll be rested and ready to explore Lake Superior tomorrow.

Goodnight from Michigan!
