Exploring the Oregon Coast & Last Night on the Road

Our furnace had no issues last night, so it was a nice and cozy night. It was a frosty morning, though,  and I don’t think Maggie and Remi liked it very much. They will be happy to get home to the warm house and their comfy beds by the fire. I booked their spa appointments for November 11, and it will be nice to get them all clean from the 2 months of travel. I also booked Remi’s neuter appointment. Ron looked at Remi and said “Sorry buddy”. Our little dude has a bit too much testosterone at the moment. He’s a bit too big for his britches.

Ariel and Wyatt had a full day of school. Their school is having a Sumdog math contest, and both Ariel and Wyatt loved participating in that today. Ariel is such a great little teacher when she helps her brother with his school work. It’s hard to believe that these two fight like cats and dogs when I see tender moments like this.

Ron was busy with work today. I know he is looking forward to getting back to work and back into his work routine. We have been so fortunate to have such great agents at home to help Ron with all of his transactions. Without a great support team this trip would have been challenging.

It is a chilly and cozy day so we enjoyed some Chef Boyardee Ravioli for lunch. I know it’s not fresh pasta but there is just something about ravioli in a can that is so yummy! It reminded me of camping when I was little and my mom and dad would make it for all of us on their green camp stove. It was usually a drizzly day but as a family we were cozy. Farrah and I always thought it was the best tasting lunch ever! And when I was a University student doing summer shift work at Endako Mines in northern BC. I was always so excited to see that my mom packed me ravioli in my lunch box. Clearly I have warm and fuzzy memories around Chef Boyardee lol.

After a relaxing and cozy day in the RV we took the dogs to the beach. They absolutely loved it.  Maggie could really stretch her legs and sprinted across the sand. Remi barked and chased her and seeing them have so much fun was wonderful.  We all enjoyed our last big afternoon on the beach before dinner.

Now that we are back in Oregon we headed to McMenamins for dinner. We have one of their restaurants in Olympia so it was a familiar taste of home for us.  The kids enjoyed a celebratory Shirley Temple with dinner and we all shared our favourite moments of the trip.  It was so hard to pick just one favourite moment when we have had so many.

We watched one of our favourite Christmas movies “Prep and Landing” when we got back to camp and called it a night.  Remi and Maggie were completely worn out after their great beach run.  Our furnace is working and we are all together and cozy. Life is great!

Goodnight from Oregon!
