No-Go-Rougeaux: A Day to Stop and Relax
“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.”
A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)
What a great day at the lake! We had a whole day with nothing to do but relax at our campsite. After 2+ weeks of nonstop “GO” this was a nice change of pace. The kids completed all their school work, and I did 7 loads of laundry. So much laundry, I know!
After a stormy night last night, the waves calmed today, making the perfect beach day for the kids. The KOA here rents out golf carts for traveling around the island (which is entirely campground) and of course that’s what we did. Having a golf cart was a big help with all the laundry. Plus, it was a fun way to zip around the island, and I could tell that Ron was in heaven.
After the kids finished school, they headed to the water with Ron. The kids went for a little swim, and Ron walked out to the rocky shelf to do some fishing. He didn’t get any nibbles, but just being in the water with his fishing makes him happy. We finished the day with New York pizza delivered right to our campsite. The pizzeria was over 30 minutes away, so we were shocked and delighted that they drove all that way to bring us our pizza.
We have thoroughly loved this campground. Our neighbours have all been so friendly, and the host, Clifford, has been the nicest camp host we’ve met so far. The pups are extra fond of him since he’s given them treats each time he’s stopped to say hi. This has been the perfect place for a relaxing day to recharge our batteries.
